Gilgit (Azadi Times – Gilgit Latest News Desk) Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid, speaking at the ceremony organized regarding the addition of 8 new buses equipped with modern facilities to the fleet at a cost of 20 crores in Netco, said that Netco is our national institution. Netco has played a significant role in providing travel facilities and transportation in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Before our government, Netco was suffering from losses. The issue of payment of employees’ salaries was unfounded. Like Steel Mills and PIA, Netco was hit by financial difficulties. We solved the problems faced by Netco. 20 crore was provided for the purchase of new buses. 35 crores provided for repayment of loans taken from various banks. Bridge financing of Rs 17 crore was done to stabilize the institution financially. 150 employees were put on deputation to other institutions.

Chief Minister (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan) Khalid Khurshid said that the previous governments had made Netco a source of rewards and jobs for their workers. We put a complete ban on jobs in Netco. It is now the responsibility of Netco employees to outperform private transport companies and make the organization profitable.

If you work with honesty and dedication, Netco can be among the best transport companies in Pakistan. The government will provide all possible support to make Netco a profitable transport company. An amount of about one billion has been provided to stabilize the institution financially
