What is eligibility to contest election? Azad Kashmir Election Commission has clarified the rules


Muzaffarabad: The Election Commission of Azad Jammu And Kashmir (Pakistan-administered) explained that all candidates must have matriculation:

Azad Times, July 14, According to the Second Schedule of the Local Government Act, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, candidates participating in local government elections must have matriculation and minimum educational qualifications. 

Must be 25 years of age, the candidate participating in the local government election Azad Kashmir must be registered as a voter in the ward from which he is participating in the election. It is necessary to register his/her vote/name in the council. 

There is no truth in the news spread on social media regarding the qualifications and educational qualifications of the candidates participating in the municipal election. 

Whose name is registered in his respective ward, his educational qualification is matriculation, his age is 25 years or more, every person can exercise the right to vote in the municipal election, whose name is registered in the voter list and his age is 18 years.
