Five people, including police personnel, have been killed in a bomb blast in the Swat area of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The explosion took place on Tuesday evening in Swat’s Kibal area, according to police, preliminary investigations revealed that it was a remote-controlled bomb that targeted Idris Khan, a member of the Peace Committee.
According to the police, apart from Idris Khan, two policemen are also included in the victims.
The police took the dead bodies into custody and shifted them to Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital. While the police cordoned off the area and started further investigation.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan took notice of the incident and asked for a report from the Inspector General of Police.
He expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and said that he was saddened by the loss of lives.
