Apple has been manufacturing iPhones and other devices in India and Vietnam for a few years now, but it relies heavily on China for production.
But now the American company is working to increase the production of devices in India and Vietnam while reducing the dependence on China.
One from JP Morgan Reports According to Apple, 5% of iPhone 14 series production will be done in India by the end of 2022.
The report said that by 2025, 25 percent of iPhones will be manufactured in India.
Similarly, by 2025, 20 percent of iPad and Apple, 5 percent of MacBook and 65 percent of AirPods will be produced in Vietnam.
According to the report, Apple has asked suppliers to manufacture the iPhone 14 models in India during the last quarter of 2022.
Earlier, the production of new iPhones was done outside China 6 to 9 months after their introduction.
The report further stated that in the near future iPhones will continue to be produced in China and Taiwan as production costs are low, but production will gradually be expanded to other countries.
Note that Apple’s main suppliers, Focuscone and Wistron, have invested heavily in India in recent years.
Thousands of people are currently working in Foxconn’s iPhone assembling factory.
Apple has also increased investment in India over the past 5 years and is now working on opening an Apple Store there.
