The State Bank has said in a statement that the government has repaid 4 billion dollars in loans in the first quarter of this fiscal year.
According to the announcement, three international financial institutions will give Pakistan 4 billion dollars, the Asian Development Bank will give 1.5 billion dollars, the World Bank will give 1 to 2 billion dollars and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank will give 500 million dollars.
The statement said that the Asian Development Bank will hold a meeting on October 25 to approve the loan.
According to the State Bank, the government has paid 4 billion dollars in loans in the first quarter of this financial year, while 600 million dollars were paid in the 10 days of October.
The statement said that dollars have not been sold in the market to strengthen the rupee, due to the tightening measures and reduction in speculation, the value of the rupee has strengthened.
