PML-N leader and former Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has once again criticized Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
Addressing a seminar at a private university in Karachi, Miftah Ismail said that last time, by not increasing the petrol tax, an irresponsible action was taken, the tax on petrol price has been increased this time. The agreement with the IMF has to be respected.
Miftah Ismail said that there were reports that the banks were selling very expensive dollars, the State Bank was asked to investigate the matter, forensic auditing of the banks has been done, a huge fine will be imposed on the banks.
The former finance minister said that if debt rescheduling is discussed, the cost of payment on Pakistan’s bonds will increase greatly. When the Mera Ghar Sasta Kard scheme was closed, he presented the logic that the banks were benefiting more from this scheme. It was better to give free houses.
