ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved the increase in the price of electricity.
According to Nepra, an increase of 19 paisa per unit has been approved in the monthly fuel charges adjustment for August.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency had requested an increase in electricity price by 22 paise per unit, on which the authority held a public hearing on September 29.
According to the notification issued by Nepra, the increase in electricity price will be applicable to all consumers of lifeline, electric vehicle charging stations and discos.
The notification states that it will be applicable only on October bills and will not be applicable to K Electric customers.
