Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the State Bank to operate banks even on holidays in flood-affected areas.
A meeting of the federal cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in the meeting, the inquiry report on the issue of overbooking of pilgrims on the government quota was discussed.
According to the announcement, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Religious Affairs and State Bank were included in the committee.
The Prime Minister was told in the briefing that there were issues of understanding in the matter of overbooking, no evidence of any malice was found, compensation amount has been paid to the pilgrims by the banks.
The Prime Minister directed that the banks must be asked why they acted carelessly in this matter.
According to the statement, on this occasion, the Prime Minister directed the State Bank to work even on holidays in the flood-affected areas.
