Rawalpindi: CCPO Rawalpindi presented the photos of 26 miscreants who attacked the GHQ gate to the media.

RAWALPINDI GHQ ATTACK UPDATES: While giving a press conference, CP Osaid Khalid Mahmood Hamdani said that Rawalpindi police have so far arrested 264 people in 17 cases while the total number of criminals arrested in case number 708 RA Bazar police station (GHQ case) has increased to 76. Among the miscreants arrested yesterday are Ehsan, Abdullah, Idris, Waqas, Ayaz, Qamar-ul-Zaman, Umar, Ali Hussain, Farhadullah, Asmat, Abu Bakr, Qamar Zaman, Sajjad Munir, Nabeel, Sadaqat, Noman, Amir Shahid, Farhad, Shehryar, Lal Shah, Akmal, Adeel, Pirzada Shehbaz, Arshad, Manoor and Syed Qamar are included. CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani said that arrests are being made by identifying them through videos, the person seen spraying petrol in the video. is also arrested while the person who incited the crowd to go towards the GHQ gate was also arrested.

Those who broke the gate have also been arrested. The police officer said that the highways continued to run during the riots and the security of important installations was also protected, the metro bus suffered a loss of Rs 80 crore. Around 20 police vehicles were damaged.

 

But 29 people and youths including SDPO Waris Khan and SHO Rata Amaral were injured in the violent operations. He said that there was no lack of intelligence in Rawalpindi, they cooperated fully due to which the situation in Rawalpindi was not too bad. However, the government is estimating the damages.

The investigation of those who are involved in the heinous crime will be very comprehensive. The CPO said that a special committee headed by SSP Investigation Zinaira Azfar is investigating the cases related to sensitive institutions while about 90 have already been sent to jail.

 

The accused are also being summoned as per the law in these cases on the basis of evidence. The police officer said that raids are also being conducted to arrest the leadership of the miscreants. Requirements will be met.
