(Skardu) (AMV) Nationalist leaders of Gilgit-Baltistan have demanded the government of Gilgit-Baltistan and the federal government to open Kargil-Skardu-Ladakh Khaplo Road. In this regard, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Nationalist Leader Engineer Manzoor Parwana at Buddha Rock Manthal Skardu and important issues of divided families were also discussed.
The meeting was attended by Asif Naji Advocate, Qamar Najmi President BSF Baltistan Region, Basharat Ahraz, Shabir Mayar and other nationalist and civil society activists.
Talking about other important issues including reunification of calf families and restoration of ancient trade routes, Engineer Manzoor Hussain Parwana expressed his views and said that we have to take the national struggle forward, we are not hand in hand anymore. The struggle will have to be intensified to open Kargil Skardu and Ladakh Khaplo Road and reunite the bereaved families.
He further said that the government of Pakistan and India have opened all the ancient routes along their border but not opening the ancient routes of Gilgit-Baltistan is cruelty to our divided families and it should be closed now.
“We stand with the Kargil-Ladakh refugees and will intensify the open border movement,” he added.
