February, 22 Gilgit [Jammu Kashmir] (Azadi Times): An important meeting of the central leaders of the Gilgit-Baltistan Public Action Committee was held in Gilgit under the chairmanship of Chairman Fida Hussain Gilgit.
At the meeting, the central leaders of the Awami Action Committee once again unanimously rejected the interim package and made it clear that the Awami Action Committee would not support any action that would rob Gilgit-Baltistan of its resources.
The position of the People’s Action Committee is in line with the disputed status of Gilgit-Baltistan, international law, Kashmir issue and UN resolutions.
Gilgit-Baltistan is not a constitutional province as it is part of Kashmir issue. If the state is serious about giving rights to Gilgit-Baltistan then it should give internal autonomy to Gilgit-Baltistan and fix power sharing formula in Muzaffarabad style.
Public Action Committee appeals to the people and youth of Gilgit-Baltistan And religious affiliation Look beyond the facts and in the context of national and international law. The interim package is nothing but legitimizing the looting of resources and lands of Gilgit-Baltistan but now the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have understood everything and will not accept any such decision.
The opposition of educated youth and people belonging to all political and religious parties of Baltistan to support the interim package supports the position of the Public Action Committee. Look, neither the interim package is the destination of Gilgit-Baltistan nor can any province be formed by merging Chitral and Kohistan. Public Action Committee is the spokesman of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
