Air pollution increases risk of lung cancer, study

This was revealed in a new medical study / file photo

Air pollution increases the risk of lung cancer.

This is a new medicine research I was told.

Research explores how air pollution causes lung cancer.

According to research, tiny particles of smoke emitted by vehicles cause ‘sleepy’ changes in lung cells and increase the risk of cancer.

The researchers said that air pollution reduces the risk of lung cancer compared to smoking, but it is a factor that we cannot prevent.

He added that more and more people worldwide are facing increasing rates of air pollution.

Even now, smoking is the main cause of lung cases, but due to indoor air pollution, 300,000 people died from lung cancer worldwide in 2019.

The researchers reported that non-smoking lung cancer cases showed genetic changes that were also found in healthy lung tissue.

He said that air pollution is linked to lung cancer but people ignore it because the mechanism behind it is still unclear.

He added that the impact of pollution on human health is eye-opening, you cannot ignore it, if you want to fix human health, you have to fix climate health first.

The results of this study were presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology conference.
