After the decision of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Council, a bill will be issued by the corporation on the waiver scheme for domestic consumers, but interest will be waived in it. The bill has to be paid in 12 instalments. PDD Principal Secretary Niteshwar Kumar has issued an order in this regard. It has been said in the order that the interest in the bills will be waived till 31 March 2022. The bill will now be paid in 12 instalments. The planning order will be deemed to be applicable from 12 September i.e. today. Old bills can be paid without any interest.
In case of non-payment in 12 installments, legal action will be taken under the Electricity Act 2003. Bills will have to be paid in total fixed installments only. Bills that come after March 2022 will be filled in the routine. Penalty will be imposed for non-payment of bill. Along with this, electricity connections will also be cut.
