Along with this, the concerned officers present in the meeting apprised the Lieutenant Governor about the compliance and other achievements made on the instructions issued in the last meeting in the context of making the services related to the Revenue Department accessible to the public. The Lieutenant Governor asked the concerned officers to adopt a multipronged approach to bring transparency in the functioning of the Revenue Department. According to information, he said that the revenue department should ensure a mechanism to provide its services to the public in a time-bound manner. Empowering the public and making the system and process effective and transparent is the first duty of the administration. Instructing to remove encroachments from government land and take strict action against the culprits, the Lt. Governor said that the revenue department should identify and remove any kind of encroachment on government land immediately, while maintaining full coordination with civil administration and police administration. There should be no illegal construction on government land. The regional authorities should ensure that no one harasses the weak and poor citizens in any way.
