Srinagar, October 4 (KMS) A complete strike will be held tomorrow in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir of India against the visit of Indian Home Minister Amit Shah.
The strike was called by the All-Party Hurriyat Conference and supported by other Hurriyat leaders and organizations to send a clear message to India that Kashmiris will not accept anything less than the right to self-determination promised to them by the United Nations. has done People have been appealed to make the strike a success by putting up posters in different areas.
In a statement released today in Srinagar, the All-Party Hurriyat Conference ridiculed Amit Shah’s claims at a function in Rajouri, in which he said that after the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir has emerged as the safest place. The Hurriyat Conference said that after the abrogation of Article 370, the killing of innocent youths on a daily basis and the arrest of thousands of Kashmiris belies the false claims of the Indian Home Minister.
The United Jihad Council in a statement announced its full support for the strike call of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference, saying that the people of Kashmir would express their hatred by imposing a civil curfew against the Hindutva leader’s visit. The Jihad Council said that A person like Amit Shah, who is working on the agenda of turning Occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a graveyard, is not a messiah but a murderer of Kashmiri people.
Meanwhile, massive cordon and search operations in the occupied territory along with increased restrictions, heavy deployment of Indian Army, Police and Central Reserve Police Force and suspension of mobile internet services continue. Helicopters and drones of the Indian Army are being used for aerial and ground surveillance. Despite the restrictions, some people managed to protest outside the UN office in Srinagar. However, the Indian police took action and arrested the protestors.
Meanwhile, Director General of Jails in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hemant Kumar Lohia, was brutally murdered at his residence in Jammu. Lohia, 57, was beheaded and his body set on fire just hours after Indian Home Minister Amit Shah entered the disputed territory.
In their statements, Hurriyat leaders on both sides of the Line of Control have expressed deep concern over the deteriorating health of Hurriyat leader Altaf Ahmad Shah, who is illegally detained in Tihar Jail in New Delhi. He appealed to the international community to intervene immediately for the release of Altaf Shah, who is suffering from cancer, so that he can get proper treatment for this deadly disease.
