Dr. Afifah Qazi, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir illegally occupied by India, has been awarded the Psychiatrist of the Year 2022 award by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in London.
According to Kashmir Media Service, former student of Government Medical College Srinagar Dr. Afifah Qazi has been given this most important award for her outstanding services for mental health. Dr. Afifah Qazi graduated from Government Medical College Srinagar in 1995 after which she moved to UK where she started her career in psychiatry. She currently works as the Chief Medical Officer for a major mental health organization in the UK. He has made significant contributions to the field of mental health in the UK. He has received several awards in recognition of his services, including the Academic Health Science Network Health Innovation Award in 2014 for his services to dementia. And in 2016, the HSJ Award is included, which is the highest honor for healthcare services. Dr. Qazi has developed an innovative and highly successful model of community care for dementia that reduces hospital admissions and length of stay for people with the disorder. His services have been recognized by the UK Department of Health and internationally by health care organizations in other countries.
