Occupied Kashmir: Strong condemnation of the occupying administration’s orders to sing Hindu bhajans in schools – (Kashmir Media Service)

Srinagar 20 September (KMS)
The Muttahida Majlis Ulema of Jammu and Kashmir, headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has strongly condemned the orders of the occupying administration regarding the singing of Hindu bhajans in the schools of the occupied area.
In a viral video on social media, students are seen singing Hindu bhajans during an assembly in a government high school in Nagam area of Kulgam. and this is a disgusting attempt to undermine our religious identity. The statement makes it clear that the protection of our religion and Islamic identity is our basic religious responsibility as Muslims and in this the deliberate action of the government, education department or any other institution. Any interference will not be accepted or tolerated. According to the statement, it is felt that the young Kashmiri generation is being pushed towards apostasy by government educational institutions, away from Islamic beliefs and identity and integration with India with the concept of Hindutva. Efforts are being made to speed up the process. Youth is a very serious matter and needs attention. The Muttahida Majlis Ulema said that efforts to demoralize the Ulemas and weaken their influence in Jammu and Kashmir are also ongoing and recently arrests of Ulemas and religious leaders and black law Public Safety Act against them. The registration of cases and the detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the patron of the Muttahida Majlis Ulema for the past three years, is a clear proof of this. It will try to call a meeting of its members to formulate a strategy. In the statement, the Kashmiri people, including the teachers, are urged to register their protest against the dictatorial orders of the occupying authorities, which are completely against our religious beliefs and identity.
