Shah Faisal was among the 23 petitioners who challenged Narendra Modi’s fascist Indian government’s decision to abrogate Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. Indian media reported that after the reinstatement of Shah Faisal by the Modi government, he has withdrawn his petition to the Supreme Court of India challenging the abrogation of Article 370. Shah Faisal resigned from his service in 2019. After the repeal of Dayatha and Article 370, he was detained for more than a year. Shah Faisal’s decision to withdraw the petition came a few months after he was reinstated in the Indian Administrative Service in April this year and appointed Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Culture by the Modi government. He resigned from the job in 2019. However, the Modi government never accepted his resignation and later withdrew it.
