In the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup T20 tournament in the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan qualified for the final by defeating Afghanistan by one wicket after an interesting match.

In the match played in Sharjah, Pakistan achieved Afghanistan’s target of 130 runs thanks to Naseem Shah’s 2 consecutive sixes in the last over.

Pakistan needed 11 runs off 6 balls. Naseem Shah hit the Afghan bowler Fazal Haq Farooqui for 2 consecutive sixes to give Pakistan victory. After Pakistan’s victory, Sri Lanka also reached the final with 4 points in the Super Four stage.

Talking in the post match presentation, captain Babar Azam said that the partnership did not work as expected but Naseem Shah finished the match well.

He said that anything can happen in cricket, having seen Naseem Shah batting, it seemed that he can do anything.

Apart from this, Babar said that Naseem Shah’s 2 sixes in Sharjah reminded him of Pakistan cricket team’s legendary batsman Javed Miandad.

As Babar talked about Javed Miandad’s historic six against India in Sharjah in 1986, presenter Ravi Shastri, who was interviewing Babar, looked visibly sad.

Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri told Babar that I was here then, thanks for the reminder.

It should be noted that in the final of Australia Cup in Sharjah in 1986, when Pakistan needed four runs from the last ball against India, Javed Miandad hit a six off Chitan Sharma’s full toss to give Pakistan their first ODI. It was won.
