Despite being so important, many young people find it difficult to prepare a good CV. Usually they do not know what information to enter, in what order, to highlight essential information and avoid unnecessary details and length.  Although there is no perfect template for creating a good CV, different aspects of CV content are emphasized according to the needs of each sector.

However, experts have laid down some basic rules for creating a CV. Overall CV should be clean, typed ‘concise and written on white paper. CV should not be more than one or two pages of A4 size.

Mention your achievements in professional and academic life, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and special services (to institution or society) in detail and prominently in your CV. • Personal Information: Include name ‘address’ phone number ’email’ and any professional activity on social media (if you do) such as blogs etc.

• Career History: Describe your first job, starting with your current job. Also mention voluntary or temporary employment if related to desired employment.

The font style should be one of Times New Roman, Arial or Verdana. Along with this, the spelling must be checked frequently because wrong spelling creates a very negative impression.

You first look at five or six job adverts of the same type and carefully assess the qualifications they require, then try to match your CV to that. Many people think that the same CV can be used for all types of jobs, which is not true.

Therefore, you should first do a little research on what the employer’s requirements are. After preparing the CV, proofread it thoroughly. Make sure that you have specified all the above information in the appropriate paragraph.  Online CV.  Many public and private organizations and multinational companies invite online CVs from job candidates.

Major companies have developed software for unwanted CV filtering, which evaluates the content of a CV based on certain parameters and decides whether to forward or block it. Therefore, sometimes an application is rejected simply on the basis that it is not written properly, even if you do not actually meet the actual criteria of the job.

Following points should be kept in mind while sending CV online:

(1) The layout is simple, complex and designing layouts are difficult for software to process.

(2) Use popular standard words (key words), for example Microsoft Word should be written instead of word processing software
