Regarding this, the temporary workers of Jal Shakti Department have decided to go on strike for 72 hours from March 16.
According to the information, this strike will be in the entire Jammu division. PHE Temporary Employees Union convenor Ravi Hans says that it was expected that Jammu and Kashmir would get a monthly salary of Rs 18000 under the Minimum Wages Act on the lines of New Delhi. Please tell that but this increase has been increased from Rs 9000 to Rs 9330 only. Increasing the daily wage from Rs 300 to Rs 311 is a dirty joke with the employees. This cannot be accepted. Along with this, Jal Shakti Department has up to 30 thousand temporary employees in the state. There are 20 thousand 90 temporary employees in Jammu division and 9670 in Kashmir division. The strike by the employees of Jal Shakti Department in Jammu division will have a direct impact on the supply of drinking water. Along with this, the temporary employees of the Electricity Department are also angry with the increase of just Rs 11 per day. They demand that the temporary employees should be regularized with a daily increase of Rs 600. According to union president Akhil Sharma, there are 12,000 temporary employees in the electricity department in the state. He alleges that more than 200 temporary employees have become handicapped due to electrocution while rendering services in the department, but the government is not taking any measures.
