In its efforts to crack down on cattle smuggling, the police rescued 41 cattle and arrested 5 smugglers from Udhampur sub-division.
According to police officials, a police team led by PSI Abdul Sattar, in-charge of Tikri police post, intercepted a truck going from Jammu to Udhampur at Salora. During the investigation of the truck, the police recovered three dumb animals from it. Apart from this, the Tikri police who reached near Salaura Naka during checking also recovered 38 cattle on foot. Along with this, it is reported that the police detained 5 accused in this case and also recovered a vehicle.
Please tell that the number of this vehicle has been told as JK03H 4621, in which animals were being taken from one place to another without the permission of any District Magistrate. The five accused have been identified as Mohd Hussain s/o Mohd Rafiq r/o Achbal Anantnag, Manzoor Ahmed s/o Saraj Deen r/o Ramban, Maqbol Ahmed s/o Gama r/o Ramban, Sadiq Ahmed s/o Bashir Ahmed r/o Anantnag, Mohd Yunis s/o Battu r/o Reasi Is.
In this matter, FIR No. 65/66/67/68/2023 under Section 188 of IPC and 11 PC Act has been registered at PS Rehambal, and the police have started further investigation.
