Jammu Kashmir: Construction of house was going on, five old grenades found

For your information, let us tell you that five live grenades were recovered from inside the ground while digging during the construction of a house in Chhangral Keri village of Gharota, on the outskirts of Khabar city. All grenades are HE-36 made in China. The bomb disposal squad of the police reached the spot and defused all the grenades.
Along with this, SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma told that the pieces of grenade will be sent to FSL for examination to know how old the grenade is. It is also being ascertained that who had hidden these grenades under the ground. Along with this, on Saturday afternoon Jaswinder Singh resident Chhangral Kerry was getting a house constructed on his vacant land. It is being told that while digging the foundation of the house, a white colored plastic sack was found. When the sack was opened, the ground slipped from under the feet of the people present there. Grenades were lying inside the sack. Along with this, Gharota police was informed about this. SHO Gharota Joginder Singh Chib reached the spot and took possession of all the grenades recovered from inside the sack. The condition of the grenades showed that they had been buried under the ground for many years.

The police then called the bomb disposal squad to the spot. Who defused these grenades by exploding with the help of detonators. At the same time, there is panic among the local people since the grenade was recovered in the area. No one was even aware that five grenades were kept on the ground. If there was any kind of mistake, there could have been a big disaster. At present, it has been learned that these grenades have been buried under the ground for many years.
