Also, he told that it was recovered under the Jammu and Kashmir Urban Immovable Property Tax Rules, 1962. Along with this, Form H was issued by the urban immovable property tax assessment authority for demand. In this too, time was fixed for depositing the installment. There was also a provision of penalty if the installment was not deposited on time. The amount of fine shall not exceed one fourth of the amount of the instalment. It is being told that the rulers who had property tax during their time also came out in protest. It should be known that for more than 25 years after the abolition of property tax in 1996, the property tax was not deposited on behalf of the citizens. Now when the LG administration issued this, the rulers during whose time property tax was collected also stood in protest. All organizations including all political parties have raised their voice against it. The government has not imposed property tax for the first time.
