The city of Jammu, which is moving towards smart city, is now slowly getting scared due to the menace of thieves. Earlier, thieves who used to target an empty house in a deserted area, now even the abode of God is not safe from their eyes. Despite the police administration, thieves are now sitting on the houses as well as the temples of God, and as soon as they get a chance, they do not hold back from carrying out their crime.
One such incident of theft in the temple has come to the fore from Bakshi Nagar area of Jammu today. There was an uproar in this area when thieves broke into the Deewana Shiva temple located here. It is reported that thieves targeted this temple and stole cash worth about Rs 30,000 and a donation box from here. Please tell that the police station is also present at a short distance near this temple. In such a situation, this incident done by the thieves is also raising questions on the police administration.
Talking to the media on this occasion, the priest of the temple told that he closes the temple everyday at night and opens it in the morning. But as soon as he opened the temple this morning, he could not believe his eyes. Because the locks of the temple were broken, the knobs were broken and all the cash was missing from the locker. Pandit ji told that the thief probably could not open the lock of the donation box of Shiva temple, so he stole the donation box with him.
In this case, the trustee of the temple told that he was going to get the Bhandara done in this temple next month, so the cash of the donation box was not withdrawn. In such a situation, the thieves made a dent. Accusing the police administration, he said that the thieves have committed this theft from under the nose of the police. He said that don’t know how the police is patrolling. If the temples in the main market are not safe then we cannot even talk about our safety. He said that this incident took place between 2 to 2.30 in the night, which was carried out by drug addicts. Please tell that there is a PR hotel in front of this temple.
