Let us tell you that the apex court said that the case should be run against Shubham Sangra, the accused in the Kathua incident, considering him as an adult. Also, the apex court refused to consider the accused Sangra as a minor at the time of the rape. Along with this, the decision of the lower court and the High Court was overturned. Along with this, the Supreme Court said that if there are no documents to declare a minor, then the opinion of doctors should be considered in the interest of justice. Accused Shubham Sangra should be prosecuted as a minor or an adult only. The top court set aside the trial court’s order treating the accused as a minor.
