KULGAM: (Azadi Times)The Jammu and Kashmir Police have achieved another major success today by cracking down on the growing drug menace. In Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, two drug smugglers have been caught by the police today, from whom the police recovered about 50 kg of drugs.
Continuing the campaign against narcotics, District Police Kulgam received some information regarding narcotics in the Kaimoh area, after which the police team led by SHO Kaimoh set up a naka at Khudwani Bypass and started searching the vehicles. In this operation, police personnel stopped a suspicious vehicle and searched two persons.
During this search, the police recovered about 50 kg of poppy straw (narcotics). After which the police arrested both the smugglers and seized the drug and the vehicle.
The number of this vehicle has been mentioned as DL7CR-8749.
While the accused in it have been identified as Yawar Ahmed s/o Abdul Gani resident of Bijebhara and Zeeshan Ashraf s/o Mohammad Ashraf Bakshi resident of Anantnag.
In connection with this incident police have registered a case under FIR No. 11/2023 u/s 8/15 NDPS Act and further investigation has been initiated.
