Mythology –

Mythology tells us that once upon a time there was a long war between the gods and the demons. Demon king Mahishasura defeated Devraj Indra and got his throne and established his suzerainty over heaven.

Due to this, all the gods got scared and Tridev went to Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh ji to get out of this problem.

Hearing this, the trinity got very angry, and from their angry mouths energy was generated which took the form of a goddess.

Lord Shankar gave Trishul and Lord Vishnu gave Sudarshan to that goddess. Dev Indra descended from Vajra and Airavat the elephant and presented a bell to the goddess. Suryadev presented him with his glory, sword, and a lion.

Hearing this news, Mahishasura sent his army to attack the goddess. But as soon as the goddess’s eyes fell on Mahishasura, she killed him in a single stroke. In this way, Maa Chandraghanta freed all the deities from the havoc of the Asuras.
