GILGIT ( Azadi Times – Latest News ) The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan instructed all the political parties of Gilgit-Baltistan to submit their account details to the Election Commission Secretariat Gilgit by 31 August 2022.
According to Sections 210 and 204 of 2017 and Sections 159 and 160 of Election Rules 2017, all political parties should submit their account details to the Election Commission Secretariat on or before 31 August 2022, and the accounts they are using for the activities of their political parties. These accounts should be audited by a qualified chartered accountant and submitted. The account must include the following details annual income and expenditure, source of funds, and assets and liabilities.
Public Relations Department of the Election Commission. Accordingly, all the above details have been made mandatory to be verified by the heads of the political parties. The party head has to confirm that no illegal funds have been received for running the party and the current assets are Details of accounts must be submitted in the proposed Form-D which is given in the Election Act 2017. Form-D can be downloaded free from the website of the Election Commission Secretariat Gilgit-Baltistan.
The auditor is to be registered with ICAP and the latest membership certificate of the auditor should be attached along with Form-D. Under section 156 of the Election Act 2017, all political parties shall submit the above details to the office of the Chief Election Commissioner, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the representative selected by the party leader shall take the details to the Chief Election Commissioner himself. Account details will not be submitted by post, fax, or courier.
