The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has given approval to increase the cost of electricity by Rs 4 34 paise per unit.
According to the sources, the approval to increase the price of electricity was given in the fuel adjustment of July and the July fuel adjustment notification is likely to be issued soon.
Sources say that July’s fuel price adjustment will have an additional burden of 69 billion rupees on electricity consumers.
Sources said that the increase in electricity price will not be applied to K Electric.
It should be noted that the federal government has announced to give relief to electricity consumers who use 300 units per month in terms of fuel adjustment.
