Jammu Kashmir: Prayers at Jamia Masjid and Dargah Hazrat Bal closed again

(Hazrat Bal)

Srinagar: Historical Jama Masjid Srinagar and Ashar Sharif Hazrat Minbar’s pulpit and mihrab fell silent for the third consecutive week on Friday.

The historic mosque was locked again on Friday and prayers were not allowed. People who had come from different areas to offer Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar went back when they found the Jamia locked.

Anjuman-e-Awqaf Jamia Masjid Srinagar said in a statement that The Khatib and Imam of the mosque, Maulana Ahmad Saeed Naqshbandi, was informed that even today (Friday) it is not allowed to offer Friday prayers at the Central Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.

The statement lamented that despite the full implementation of the standard operating procedure, the prayers of the worshipers coming for Friday prayers have once again taken place in the Central Jamia Masjid, the largest place of worship in Kashmir since last Friday. Friday prayers are not allowed which is extremely sad and worrisome and is a very painful and beautiful soul for the

people and the worshipers was allowed, but again on August 13 at the Jamia Masjid Sir Inger was locked up. Meanwhile, Friday prayers were not offered at Hazrat Bill Dargah, while women also protested against the continuous closure of Hazrat Bill Dargah. Meanwhile, other mosques in the valley offered Friday prayers as usual.
