SRINAGAR – In most areas of Srinagar city including Civil Lines, roads, intersections and alleys were flooded after heavy rains on Sunday morning:
Azadi Times – Lal Chowk practically turned into a pond. City including Lal Chowk, Ghanta Ghar, Regal Chowk, Old Court Road, Badshah Chowk and Jahangir Chowk.
Several roads, lanes and internal roads in various areas of the city were flooded.
People, especially traders, said that when they reached Lallchowk and other markets of the Civil Lines to open their shops on Saturday morning, they saw roads, lanes and intersections under water and they could not move forward.
After two heavy rains, Lal Chowk and other nearby areas turned into a lake. Traders further said that many roads, streets and internal alleys have been flooded due to the heavy rains, due to which commuters and pedestrians are facing a lot of problems. It has to be done because public movement is affected by waterlogged roads.
