Gilgit (Azadi Times – Gilgit-Baltistan Latest News) Newly elected Governor Syed Mehdi Shah took the oath of office as the Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan.
On Thursday, the oath of allegiance of the new Governor was administered at the Governor House Gilgit in which the Chief Judge of the Supreme Appellate Court Gilgit-Baltistan Wazir Shakeel.
Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid Khan, Speaker Provincial Assembly Amjad Zaidi, Provincial Ministers, Force Commander Major General Jawad Ahmed, Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Mohiuddin Wani, IG Police took the oath of allegiance from former Chief Minister and newly elected Governor Syed Mehdi Shah. Saeed Wazir, former Caretaker Chief Minister DIG Retired Mir Afzal, Chief Election Commissioner Raja Shehbaz, Leader of the Opposition and President People’s Party Gilgit-Baltistan Amjad Hussain Advocate including important political and social figures, leaders of political parties, civil and military officers. It should be remembered that the posts of Chief Minister and Governor were introduced in Gilgit-Baltistan after the political reforms in 2009.
Syed Mehdi Shah also has the honor of becoming the first Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. After taking the oath of Governor, Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah said that he will be in constant contact with the federal government for the construction and development of Gilgit-Baltistan and will play an active role in establishing the best relations between the federal government and the provincial government so that Gilgit-Baltistan can flourish. The problems faced by the people of Baltistan can be solved immediately.
