On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a ceremony was held at Muzaffarabad Azadi Chowk, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Commission and Pasban Hurriyat to show solidarity with the women of Occupied Kashmir and pay tribute to the Kashmiri freedom movement. Azad Kashmir Senior Most Minister Khawaja Farooq Ahmed was the chief guest of the event while women from all walks of life participated in the event. They demanded to take notice of the violations of basic human rights in Occupied Kashmir and to give their right to self-determination to Kashmiris. The participants raised loud slogans against India and in favor of Kashmiris and asked international organizations to stop Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. An appeal was made and the place and honor of women in Islam was highlighted. The women participating in the ceremony held up banners and placards. After the ceremony, a large rally was also taken out from Azadi Chowk to Ghari Pin Chowk. Member Legislative Assembly Nisar Abbasi, Leader PP Shaukat Javed, Chairman Pasban Hurriyet Azir Ghazali, President of PML-N Women Wing Maryam Kashmiri, Samia Sajid, Fawzia Habib, Saira Chishti, Umm Sara, Madam Shaista, Warda Manzoor and others addressed the event. What did Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Most Minister Khawaja Farooq Ahmad said that our brave mothers, sisters and daughters of Occupied Kashmir are raising the flag of freedom under the shadow of Indian soldiers. We believe in Allah that the people of Occupied Kashmir will get their right. There is no example of the cruelty and brutality that has occurred in Occupied Kashmir. He said that the women who got married from Azad Kashmir and went to Occupied Kashmir are not being allowed to meet their parents. On this occasion, Senior Most Minister Khawaja Farooq was congratulated for giving an excellent speech on Women’s Day, Occupied Kashmir and the position of women in Islam. Manzoor was given a cash prize of 5 thousand and encouraged the student. Speaking at the ceremony, Member of Legislative Assembly Nisar Abbasi said that he expressed solidarity with the great women of Occupied Kashmir and paid tribute to them. Speaking at the event, PP leader Shaukat Javed Mir said that the greatest position of women is in Islam. I also pay tribute to those who worked for the development of women and their rights.
