Queen Baltistani: A Fearless Pro Freedom and insightful woman of Gilgit Baltistan passed away today

Queen of Gilgit Baltistan
A proud figure in the political history of Baltistan and the founder of resistance movements, Queen Baltistani passed away today, May 30, 2021, in the United States after a long illness. She was born in 1946 and fought for the rights of Gilgit-Baltistan all her life. He received his early education in Lahore, including Kennard College, but eventually settled in Karachi. In 1968, he worked for the disputed region of Gilgit-Baltistan, such as the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) and the abolition of black law and constitutional and human rights. He started his struggle. In 1969, he convened a convention at his residence in Karachi in which the scholars from Gilgit-Baltistan also participated prominently.

 Human and constitutional rights for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. He launched the first regular and regular newspaper of Gilgit-Baltistan, Sada-e-Baltistan, the editor of which was his brother Raza Ansari. Meanwhile, he founded an organization called the Gilgit-Baltistan Ladakh United Front, whose general secretary was former bureaucrat Agha Muhammad Ali Shah. In 1970, he raised his voice against General Yahya Khan’s martial law and withdrew from Gilgit-Baltistan. Protesters marched in front of the Sindh Governor’s House in Karachi to end the CR and provide constitutional and human rights to the disputed area or give Gilgit-Baltistan a separate status as Azad Kashmir. He was arrested during the protest and sentenced by Sindh Governor-General Rehman Gul to 17 years in prison, but due to national and international protests and pressure, General Yahya soon dropped his sentence. The city of Karachi in the 1970s was not only a center of political activity but also a home of hope for thousands of Gilgit-Baltistanis who migrated in search of a better life and education, so they continued their struggle in Karachi and not only locally and He exposed the atrocities committed against the deprived people of the internationally disputed Gilgit-Baltistan and also helped thousands of Gilgit-Baltistanis to settle down and live a decent life in the industrial city of Karachi and AB Senia Lines, Korangi Sector in Karachi. 2-1 / 2, played a significant role in the settlement of important Balti Gilgit settlements like Awami Colony, Korangi, and Paharganj. In the 1970s, he was very active in political and welfare affairs and many times Balti and Nagar community in AB Senia. The government’s attempt to bulldoze the houses of Baltistanis was thwarted by Queen Baltistani. Queen Baltistani had not only fought for the rights of Balti and Gilgit people but also remained associated with other resistance and labor organizations. During Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s rule, he helped bring about the abolition of the FCR and political reform in Gilgit-Baltistan. He remained a powerful voice behind the approval of foreign exchange for visitors to Iraq and Iran in 1973-74. 

He formed the Gilgit-Baltistan National Alliance, which continued to fight for human and constitutional rights for the still-disputed Gilgit-Baltistan. In 1985, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights submitted a petition to the UNCHR regarding the deprivation of Gilgit-Baltistan and recorded its protest. Queen Baltistan has been working for the rights of Gilgit-Baltistan individually and collectively for more than 50 years. Continue to unconditionally support all political and student organizations from Gilgit-Baltistan, including the Baltistan Students Federation (BSF), Karakoram Students Organization (KSO), Gilgit Students Federation and many others. Your services for attainment and redressal of frustrations are innumerable which are also difficult to cover but it is very unfortunate that even before her dream was embarrassingly interpreted, she fell into eternal sleep in thousands of hearts today.

 May Allah grant them high ranks. Queen Baltistani had filled the heart of her son Rashid Sami with love and fire for Gilgit-Baltistan. That is why she also raises the voice of Gilgit-Baltistan at every forum and always strives for the awakening of the young generation. We also offer our condolences on the death of this great lady
