Digital Desk, New Delhi. Former India footballer and newly-elected AIFF executive committee member Tababi Devi feels national teams need to climb higher in the FIFA rankings and for that they have to improve every step of the way. Tababi has been a prolific player, representing the Blue Tigresses until 2011.
He was inducted into the AIFF’s executive committee earlier this month. She will be part of the highest decision-making body of Indian football for the next four years.
“We now have two former women’s football players on the executive committee, and this is a great opportunity for us to represent the women’s football community at the top administrative level,” Tababi said in an AIFF release. She further said, “This new latest change will give us support at the administrative level and I am sure that we can now take good steps towards improving women’s football in India.”
The former India captain’s main aim is to help national teams move up the FIFA rankings. We need to move up the rankings and we need to fight together at every step. The main objective is to take measures, due to which more quality players will keep coming. Tababi further said that a strong grassroots program is needed to help women’s football grow.
