Virtues and characteristics of the fifteenth night (Lailatah Mubaraka) of the month of Shaban
Writing! Syed Muhammad Ishaq Naqvi
The translation of the first six verses of the 25th verse of the Holy Qur’an, Surah Al-Dukhan, is presented to the readers: “Hum, I swear by the Book of Mubin (which is a clear book in explaining the commands of God) Verily, We sent it down in a blessed night. Because through this book i.e. the Holy Qur’an, we were meant to warn people from the punishment of the hereafter, in this blessed night, the knowledge of every wise person (Rizq, Wajal and other matters related to the system of the universe) is written separately, which is issued. And He sent down this Qur’an from us because it was intended for us to send you as a Messenger to all the worlds. Giving you the Prophethood and the Qur’an is a special favor and mercy from your Lord. Verily, Allah is All-Hearing and All-Knowing (Al-Quran)
The 15th night of Shaban al-Muzam is called “Lailat al-Mubarakah” and the 27th night of Ramadan is called “Lailat al-Qadr”. Its application is that in Lailat al-Mubarakah (15th night of Shaban al-Muzam), the Holy Quran was transferred to Loh Mahfooz, and in Lailat al-Qadr (27th night of Ramadan), the Holy Quran was revealed from Loh Mahfouz to the sky from here to the world. And according to the necessity, Sayyid Na-Muhammad continued to be revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and in the same way, the revelation of the Holy Quran was completed in a period of 23 years.
In the light of blessed hadiths, especially on the fifteenth night of Shaban al-Mu’zam, explaining the mentioned verses of Surah al-Dukhan, Hazrat Ikramah (RA) has stated that on Lailat al-Mubarakah (Shab Barat) all the wise affairs of the whole year are decided. A list of the names of all those who are alive and performing Hajj is prepared, and there is no shortage of any kind in compliance. That is, he was busy in standing and sitting in worship and dhikr and dhikr until his blessed feet became swollen (swollen). Didn’t he describe it as free from every mistake? You are so diligent in worship, so he said in reply, “Shouldn’t I be a grateful servant of Allah, O Aisha, don’t you know what is going on in this night?” Hazrat Aisha said yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Every birth and death is recorded in this night, in this night sustenance is sent down for the servants, and in this night the deeds and actions of the servants are taken up to heaven.
Hazrat Shah Abdul Haq Muhaddith Dehlavi, may God bless him and grant him peace, says that in the last part of every night, Allah glorifies the sky above the world, as is worthy of His glory, but on the fifteenth night of Shaban al-Muzam, from dusk to dawn, the sky is the world. He lives in glory and splendor (according to His glory and power) and bestows His servants with the greatest blessings and gifts. In Ibn Majah, Hazrat Abi Musa (RA) narrated that there is no night after Lailatul-Qadr more than the night of the fifteenth of Sha’ban. It is not better. In this night, the Lord Almighty shines the heavens above the world (as befits His glory and majesty) and forgives those who ask for forgiveness, provided that the supplicant is spiteful, merciful (cut ties with relatives). And don’t be misbehaved, every day and night in the month of Shaban al-Muzam, the revelation of God’s mercy is good. Endless is revealed to the servants, the gifts of God are revealed, every moment of that night is up. It has thousands of blessings and light inside it. It is a blessed message of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that you should take advantage of the 15th night of Shaban al-Muzam because it is the visible night and Lailat al-Qadr, although it is of great virtue, but it is hidden, you should do good deeds and good deeds in this night. Do it so that you will be rewarded for it on the Day of Judgment and be spared from regret and shame. There is good news for him who worships on this night. He further said that one of the four nights in which Allah Almighty opens the doors of His mercy and blessings is the night of the fifteenth of Sha’ban al-Mu’zam (according to the book of Ghanita Talibeen wa Nuzhta Majlis).
It is a blessed saying of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that indeed, on the fifteenth night of the appointed night of Shaban al-Muzam, the sky descends on the world with his grace and mercy (as befits his glory and majesty) and more people than the hairs of the goats of Bani Klub. (The name of a tribe in Arabia was Bani Kalb, who used to have plenty of goats) (according to Sunan Ibn Majah and Tirmidhi Sharif)
It is narrated from Sayyid Naali Al-Murtaza that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “When it is the fifteenth night of Sha’ban al-Mu’zam, stay in it, that is, read Nawafil, and fast during the day. Indeed, Allah, the Exalted, would descend on that night, turning the sky to the world.” (i.e. He is close to His servants in terms of His special mercy) and that night from sunset to sunrise He says, “There is a seeker of forgiveness, to whom I will forgive, there is a seeker of sustenance, to whom I will provide sustenance, there is a sufferer and calamity.” There is a receipt, to whom I will bless, there is a needy and a needy to whom I will give, and the Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever stays awake for worship on the night of Barat, his heart will not die on the day that the hearts of others will die.” (According to the book) Sabeel Al-Hasnaat) It is a blessed saying of the Holy Prophet ﷺ that a person who wants to be saved from hell should worship Allah the Almighty on the 15th night of Shaban al-Mu’zam. He opens the doors and forgives everyone, but He does not forgive the polytheist, the sorcerer, the astrologer, the miser, the drunkard, the usurer, the adulterer, and the slanderer unless they sincerely repent. Also, it is narrated that on the fourteenth day of Sha’ban al-Mu’zam, after Asr prayer before sunset, by reciting the third word forty times in a state of ablution, Allah forgives the sins (minor) of forty years by His special mercy, true repentance from major sins. This night is a great reward for doing and seeking forgiveness.
