RAWALAKOT: (Azadi Times) A 22-year-old woman named Hafsa Jamshaid, hailing from the district of Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), was brutally murdered in Rawalpindi’s Dhok Najoo area.

According to details, Hafsa had been residing in Rawalpindi for the past ten months, working at a shopping mart. She had been missing since March 7th, with her family making frantic attempts to contact her friends, to no avail. It was only on March 9th that her body was discovered in her room, bearing signs of violence on her face and head, indicating she was a victim of assault and murder.

Hafsa’s brother, Zauriz Jamshaid, speaking to the media, expressed shock and disbelief over the incident, emphasizing that they had no enmity with anyone. He revealed that their attempts to contact Hafsa’s friends had been futile, and suspicions arose when her close associates showed ignorance of her whereabouts.

The family alleged that the local police had initially shown reluctance in registering a First Information Report (FIR) and had only done so upon persistent requests. However, they lamented the lack of seriousness in investigating the matter thoroughly.

Amidst their grief and anguish, the family demanded justice from the AJK government and administrative authorities, urging for a transparent and impartial investigation into the heinous crime. They called for swift action against the perpetrators and appealed to human rights organizations and governmental representatives to intervene and ensure that the culprits are swiftly brought to justice.

The incident has sparked outrage among the local community, raising concerns about the safety and security of women. Many have joined the family in their quest for justice, questioning how long such atrocities will continue unabated and emphasizing the need for immediate and decisive action.

The Human Rights Movement International has also joined the chorus of voices demanding justice, urging law enforcement agencies to expedite the arrest of the culprits and provide solace to the victim’s grieving family.

As investigations into the brutal murder unfold, the family remains haunted by unanswered questions, with their demand for justice echoing across the region.
