Important decisions in the meeting of the special task force on flood situation in Sindh

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has said that important decisions have been taken in the meeting of the special task force on the flood situation.

While addressing a news conference at Chief Minister House Karachi, Sharjeel Memon said that the water collected in Khairpur and Nowshehru Feroz will be pumped into Rohri Canal.

He said that a decision has also been taken to restore the railway track near Nowshehro Feroze and Padaidan.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that 616 people have died due to flood so far while the number of displaced people is more than 68 lakh.

He said that there are more than 500,000 victims in government relief camps, while the loss of livestock is more than 48,000 and crops have been destroyed on more than 44,000 acres due to floods and rains.
