Islamabad: The by-elections scheduled to be held on September 11, 25 and October 2 in various constituencies of the country have been postponed due to floods.
An important meeting was held in the Election Commission under the chairmanship of the Chief Election Commissioner in which the holding of by-elections and floods were considered.
In the meeting, it was decided to postpone the by-elections to be held in 13 constituencies of the National and Provincial Assembly on September 11, 25 and October 2.
According to the Election Commission, only the polling dates of the by-elections have been postponed, the remaining phases of the by-elections will be held as per schedule.
The Election Commission says that the security agencies are engaged in relief operations due to floods, by-elections are not possible on fixed dates due to terrorism and displacement due to floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Will be announced.
According to the Election Commission, by-elections have been postponed for 10 constituencies of the National Assembly and 3 constituencies of the Punjab Assembly.
The by-elections to be held on September 11 in NA-157 Multan and PP-139 Sheikhupura and PP-239 Bahawalnagar of the Punjab Assembly have been postponed.
Apart from this, the election was to be held on September 25 in 9 constituencies of the National Assembly, in which Imran Khan is the candidate from PTI, the election has been postponed here as well.
Apart from this, the by-election to be held on October 2 in the Punjab Assembly Constituency PP 209 has also been postponed.
