Shoukat Nawaz Mir (born January 1, 1976) is a respected social leader and prominent voice for civil rights in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). As a senior figure in the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC), he has led widespread movements advocating for economic justice, environmental protection, and democratic freedoms.

Born in Muzaffarabad, Mir grew up in a family with strong political roots. His father was a close associate of former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan and an active member of the Muslim Conference. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) while managing his family's business operations.

Rise as Trade Union Leader

Mir began his public leadership journey through trade union activism. In 2003, he was elected to a local traders' organization in Muzaffarabad, winning re-election due to strong business community support. By 2013, he became Secretary General of the Azad Kashmir Traders' Organization, successfully unifying various local trader groups.

This led to the creation of the All Azad Kashmir Anjuman Tajran, with Mir as its founding Secretary General. In 2022, he became President of Central Anjuman Tajran Muzaffarabad, amplifying his influence across AJK's economic circles.
