MOSCOW — Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has issued a stern warning to Washington, stating that any direct U.S. military assistance to Israel amid its ongoing conflict with Iran could lead to severe destabilisation in the Middle East.
Speaking to Russia’s Interfax news agency, Ryabkov emphasized that Moscow “strongly cautions” the United States against providing military support to Israel or even considering such a move, as tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv enter their sixth consecutive day of aerial combat.
“This kind of intervention has the potential to radically destabilise the region,” Ryabkov warned.
He also confirmed that Russia is maintaining active diplomatic communication with both Israel and Iran in an effort to prevent the situation from spiraling into a broader regional war.
The Russian statement comes amid growing international concern over the escalating hostilities, with many fearing the conflict could draw in more global powers and trigger wider unrest in an already fragile Middle East.
