An arrest warrant has been issued for Sandeep Lamichane, the captain of the Nepal cricket team, on the charge of allegedly raping a girl.

According to the French news agency AFP, the police said that the Nepalese court on Thursday issued an arrest warrant for the captain of the national cricket team, Sandeep Lamichane, on the charge of rape by a 17-year-old girl.

According to reports, the 17-year-old girl filed a complaint against Sandeep a few days ago, alleging that the cricketer raped her in a hotel room in Kathmandu last month.

Sandeep Lamichane is currently playing for Jamaica Talawaz in the Caribbean Premier League in the West Indies.

Police say that if Sandeep is not in Nepal, the help of foreign law enforcement agencies or Interpol can be taken to arrest him.

On the other hand, Cricket Association of Nepal says that Sandeep is our player but if he has committed any crime, we will not protect him.

It should be noted that Sandeep Lamichane has also represented Lahore Qalandars in PSL.
