Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam said after the defeat in the final of the Asia Cup that the players performed well individually.
Speaking after the match, Babar Azam congratulated Sri Lanka for winning the Asia Cup.
Captain Babar Azam said that we dominated in the beginning but Rajapaksa’s batting made the difference while our middle orders did not perform well, our fielding in the final match was also not good.
Earlier, Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan also accepted the responsibility for the defeat in a statement on social media and said that catches win matches.
It should be noted that Shadab Khan dropped 2 catches of Rajapaksa on important occasions in Sri Lanka’s innings, after which Rajapaksa played a brilliant batting innings of 71 runs off 45 balls and brought the team’s score to 170 runs.
In the final of the Asia Cup, Sri Lanka became the Asian champion for the sixth time by defeating Pakistan. In pursuit of Sri Lanka’s target of 171 runs, the Pakistani batsmen scored 147 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
