Google Launches Pixel 10a: New A-Series Smartphone Available for Pre-Order Starting at $499

128GB version priced at $499, 256GB at $599; pre-order customers offered discount codes

San Francisco, USA — Tech giant Google has officially unveiled its new A-series smartphone, the Google Pixel 10a, with prices starting at $499 (approx. PKR 139,000). According to CNET, the 128GB model is available for $499, while the 256GB version is priced at $599. Customers who sign up on the pre-order page are also being offered discount codes.

In terms of design, the Pixel 10a closely resembles last year’s Pixel 9a, though Google has introduced several notable upgrades. The new device now supports 30W wired charging, significantly faster than the previous model. Additional features include satellite SOS connectivity and a Quick Share function, enabling users to send files and photos to iPhones via AirDrop-style sharing.

To maintain a competitive price point, Google has made some compromises. The Pixel 10a features two rear cameras instead of three, and unlike other Pixel 10 models, it does not include Pixel Snap magnets, requiring third-party cases for magnetic accessories.

The launch comes amid intense competition in the smartphone market. Apple is expected to introduce a budget-friendly iPhone 17e, while Samsung will reportedly unveil the Galaxy S26 series at its Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25. The Mobile World Congress 2026, the year’s largest mobile tech exhibition, will also take place later this month.

Specifications and Availability

The Pixel 10a officially launched on February 18 and is now available for pre-order, with regular sales beginning March 5. Key specifications include:

The device will be available in four colors: Obsidian, Berry, Fog, and Lavender.

Outlook

The Pixel 10a launch positions Google competitively in the mid-range smartphone segment, appealing to budget-conscious users while offering enhanced features such as faster charging and cross-platform file sharing. Market analysts expect this device to compete strongly with Apple’s upcoming budget iPhone and Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S26 series.
