World Bank announces cut-off aid to Afghanistan

NEW YORK: (UNI) The World Bank has cut off financial aid to Afghanistan amid concerns over the plight of women in the Taliban regime:

“We are deeply concerned about the situation in Afghanistan and the country’s development landscape, especially its impact on women. We are currently suspending financial assistance to Afghanistan from the Bank. “The World Bank is in constant contact with the international community and development partners regarding the situation in Afghanistan,” she said. 

He said that in order to accelerate the development work in Afghanistan and help the people there, we are considering all possibilities with our allies. It is worth mentioning that the World Bank It has pledged to spend 5. 5.3 billion on development projects in Afghanistan. 

The World Bank-administered Afghan Reconstruction Trust Fund has raised more than .9 12.9 billion for development work. The sharp fall in the value of Afghanistan’s currency since the failure of the US-backed government has left its people fearful of rising inflation.
