Port Moresby: A 7.6 magnitude earthquake has been recorded in the eastern part of Papua New Guinea, killing one person and injuring several others.

According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 80 kilometers. A tsunami warning was also issued after the earthquake, but the warning was canceled shortly after.
