Muzaffarabad: In a significant development, the Central Public Action Committee convened a crucial meeting under the leadership of Fada Husain, its central chairman.

The meeting, held at a local hotel in Gilgit, Gilgit-Baltistan, on Monday, October 3rd, centered on the concerning use of state authority in connection with the ongoing protest movement addressing fundamental human and public rights issues in Azad Kashmir.

Key figures attending the meeting included Vice Chairman Jehanzeb Inqilabi, Information Secretary Yusuf Ali Nashad, Central Spokesperson Zaheer Qasimi, Secretary Finance Javed Qureshi, and several other representatives.

After extensive discussions on the current situation in Azad Kashmir, the committee issued a comprehensive statement outlining their stance on several crucial issues:

Immediate Halt to State-Sponsored Terrorism: The committee emphasized the immediate need to halt state-sponsored terrorism in Azad Kashmir by non-local forces.

Swift Withdrawal of Non-Local Forces: A unanimous call for the swift and immediate withdrawal of all non-local forces from Azad Kashmir.

Recognition of Just Demands: Acknowledging the just demands of the Azad Kashmir populace, the committee stressed the importance of reaching a speedy resolution.

Disputed Territory Status: The statement emphasized that Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan remain disputed territories, neither falling under any Pakistani province nor subject to constitutional decision-making. As a result, state intervention must be restrained.

Immediate Release of Detainees: The committee called for the immediate release of all innocent detainees in Azad Kashmir.

Resource Allocation: Resources in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan should be directed toward benefiting the local population, with a cessation of exploitation by non-local capitalists.

Solidarity: Expressing solidarity, the Public Action Committee and the people of Gilgit-Baltistan stand united with their Kashmiri counterparts.

Collective Struggle: It is now time for the residents of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan to unite in their collective struggle.

Commitment to Further Action: If the prevailing circumstances persist, the Public Action Committee of Gilgit-Baltistan is prepared to extend support to the people of Azad Kashmir and expand protests into Gilgit-Baltistan.
