Successful Negotiations on the election of the Mayor of Rawalkot Municipal Corporation

Rawalkot: (Azadi Times) Municipal corporation Rawalkot mayor election has become a challenge for political parties. There are 22 wards in the corporation limits from which 22 members have been elected, including one female member.

12 votes for the election of mayor. but no political party has the majority individually to join the mayoral race. According to the unofficial and inconclusive results, Jammu Kashmir People’s Party is on the first place with 7 seats, Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir is on the second place. which has 4 seats.

In this way, PML-N Azad Kashmir and PTI have 3, 3 seats and 5 independent candidates have been successful. There was a development on Wednesday that the handover of mayorship between PPP and PML-N.

According to the sources, it was agreed that the parties will give their candidate for the mayorship together. In this regard, the local leaders of the parties will hold a press conference on Thursday.
