Protests Erupt in Dhirkot Against MLA Atiq Khan and Anwar Government

Dhirkot: The residents have taken to the streets of Dhirkot, Azad Kashmir (Pakistan administered) to protest against elected MLA Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan and the Anwar government’s failure to address their demands.

Demonstrators have staged a sit-in, vowing not to leave until their grievances are met.

The protests have seen strong participation from the communities of Rangla, Malot, Base Bagla, Dhak Bagla, Horot, Rangoli, Hans Chowki, Bariyan, Katkair, and Molach. The primary issue is the long-overdue construction of the Rangla-Dheerkot Road.

As a result, the Shahrah Mujahid-e-Awal has been closed to all traffic, causing significant disruptions.

Raja Ashiq Khan, a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Western Bagh, along with other party leaders, joined the protest to highlight the unfulfilled promise of the road’s construction.

A large number of people are actively participating in the protest, demonstrating their frustration and demanding immediate action from the authorities.
